The winemaker

At a bend, in a valley of this small appellation, lies Château Le Bernat today a beautiful "Gironde" of the seventeenth century, fully renovated, as the technical facilities and the vineyard over the years. The estate is a peaceful place, an immense sweetness, a place very "feminine" likes to say Nathalie Le Roy. Undoubtedly the major explanation for the thunderbolt, besides the potential of the area.  It was in 1999 that the adventure starts: Liliane and Jean-Pierre Roy invest all their savings to revive this sleeping beauty that is the Château Bernat. The vineyards are situated on shale slopes of Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion, one of the satellites of Saint-Emilion. Today is their daughter, Natalie, who gets the field. In the winery is the winemaker Jean-Philippe Fort, member of the laboratory of Michel Rolland since 1990 and winemaker of Chateau Fleur Cardinale in Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, which handles assembly. For Château Bernat, Jean-Philippe Fort favors fruity, round, with elegant tannins from very ripe grapes and wine making a sharp, respectful of the typicality of the terroir of Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion. The vineyard has 6 hectares of vineyards, 2/3 Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc.
