The winemaker

Chaigneau led by the family since 2000, the castle has 10 Massereau ha. Production is divided between two top claret (wine tradition and K), a serious and two red Sauternes-Barsac (the Pachère and M Massereau). Both Chaigneau brothers, Philippe and Jean-François, dedicated to the production of wines of character with a strong personality. Everything begins with a growing type of vineyard "very rational". Logic that is pushed to the cellar in which one avoids chaptalisation, acidification, gluing or filtration (at least very slightly). Whether the select Barsac "M" Massereau, from an incredibly low yield of 10 to 13 hl / ha on a plot of 1.20 ha - or cuvée "K" in Bordeaux Supérieur, spearhead range, all these wines provide proof that the sole purpose of Chaigneau brothers is to develop quality wines. The castle is Massereau SAPROS member association, which means that its Sauternes sweet wines are made naturally, without adding sugar, ie only from sugars from the botrytised grapes (candied-roasted).
