The winemaker

According to legend, Charlemagne held "council" in place after the battle against the Saracens in AD 804. The castle, built in 1300 and remodeled over the centuries, however, retained its imposing character manor. In 1894, Cheri Joseph Baudet acquires this beautiful area after a lifetime of labor. The division of property in 1927 gave birth to the Château Gazin-Monconseil 18 hectares Monconseil and 6 to Gazin, a locality cadastral west of the vineyard, overlooking the estuary of the Gironde. In the 60's to 80 Michel Baudet and his wife Simone develop and improve their operations carefully encouraged by the patronage of Alexis Lichine, great merchant on the Bordeaux. The wines of the castle, 1st Cotes de Blaye, are exported to Japan and the USA! In 1962, the acquisition of complete disuse Ricaud Chateau but neighborly whose vines those Monconseil Gazin, always in AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux allows the redevelopment of that other great terroir. Twenty years later it was the turn of Château La Petite Roque, with its 8 hectares in the same town of Plassac and original home of the family to return to the family purse. Today, the 44 hectares of vines are under the responsibility of Jean-Michel and Michel are the Donkey Vineyards in recognition to his father, Michel, whom he succeeded in 1989. The wines are among names Blaye Blaye Coast Bordeaux Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux white Bordeaux Rosé.
