The winemaker

The history of Château Pas de l'Ane began in 1999 with a 1 hectare plot. Over time, its development has been marked by the acquisition of new plots spread over all the terroirs of the Saint-Emilion appellation. In 2006, Vignobles Pas de l'Ane took up residence in the former Château Cros-Figeac, also known as Château Cros-Saint-Emilion (Féret Edition 1998). It is surrounded by prestigious neighbors such as Château Cheval Blanc and Château Figeac. Today, the Château Pas de l'Ane vineyard covers 13 hectares, spread over 5 of the 8 communes that make up the Saint Emilion appellation. This parcel of land offers a rare and precious diversity of terroirs (gravelly sand, ferruginous sand, clay-limestone, etc.). The vines, with an average age of 35 years, are managed with the greatest care and respect for the environment, using integrated viticulture. Since 2018, the Château has held the level 3 High Environmental Value label. When the estate underwent a complete renovation, it acquired high-performance equipment for vinification and ageing in the best possible conditions (temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, climate-controlled cellars with controlled hygrometry).
