The winemaker

Located in Saint-Martin Lacaussade Gironde, Château Peyreyre the vineyards are bordered by the ancient Roman road, the Via Belli Bordeaux in Saintes, which will become the Road of Saint Jacques de Compostela. From there to think that there are vines since ancient times, there is only one step, we dare not, although some ancient texts, and those of the poet Ausonius particular, lets imply. The house and its outbuildings date back to 1762. In the early nineteenth century, it is a Bordeaux wine merchant, Duclos, who owns the domain, which will be taken over by the Peyreyre family, which will expand and refurbish the buildings in 1851. Note that the family then constitute one of the first agricultural societies, the legal sense, for a very modern management for the time. The last owner of this family after having no heir, it is Trinque family who have acquired the domain. In 1971, Michel Trinque succeed his father Theo. It will continue to enlarge the property, which will become the Vineyards Trinque Sarl, whose daughter Isabella will manage in 2006.
