Second Growths of Sauternes in 1855, the wines have obtained a diploma of honor at the International Exhibition in Paris in 1931. Property acquired in late 2013 by François Janoueix, who invested all his talent. The municipalities of Preignac, Fargues, Sauternes and Bommes, which constitute the Sauternes itself, belong to a sloping plateau to the east whose oyster limestone substrate, marl or clayey sands, all of Tertiary age. At the time of the great Quaternary glaciations, this substrate was covered by huge grave cloths made by the Garonne. Although drained by the Ciron, they give land to dominant white color that perfectly capture sunlight for the greater good of the vine. Better, the risk of frost decreases through the night return of the accumulated heat. The roots of the vines through the soil to beg for water and nutrients deep, sometimes more than ten meters.
