The winemaker

Yannick MENGUY manages since 1994 the family estate of Chateau Vieux Guillou producing wines for a long time bringing the characters of greatest vintages. With his wife Nelly, who has come from, they perpetuate the family tradition of hospitality to field and market mainly in Old Guillou directly on the spot and by national and international shipping. Yannick MENGUY also committed, as President of the Wine Syndicate, and like his father before him, in defending the interests of this small appellation. Guillou is the name of the hamlet where are located the family home and winery. The property consists of a vineyard parcels of diversity throughout the local St Georges facing the famous medieval village of Saint Emilion. Their South-South West orientation on hillsides and plateaus perched favors a perfect ripening of fruits. The diversity of plots and the age of the vines help create a subtle complexity of the wines.
