The winemaker

Few changes were made in the area of ​​the Clos La Madeleine. Its location in the heart of the first and the scarcity of opportunities to acquire exceptional terroirs, only a few acquisitions were realized already in 1930 and in 1998 and 2002 and finally in 2004. The total area now reached 2.29 ha. Already in 1930, then again between 1998 and 2002, the exchange of small parcels are made with two neighbors (Belair Magdalene and Castles); then between 2001 and 2004, CLOS LA MADELEINE acquires two contiguous properties (the Old Castle Rock La Madeleine, then Flouquet Magdalene) and restructured and slightly enlarged, CLOS LA MADELEINE strengthens its terroir and identity. In 1995-96, some of the quarries is fitted for breeding raw, and for the reception and receptions. From 2001 to 2005, important work is done on buildings: construction of a new winery, creating cellars for breeding which had the double effect to create a fully autonomous entity of vinification and aging in the heart vineyard and develop the wine tourism activity.
