The winemaker

Château Clos Saint-Emilion Philippe is a family-run wine estate founded in 1927 by Léon Galhaud. The Château is now run by Jean-Claude Philippe and his wife Nicole, representing the fourth generation of the family. Located between Libourne and Saint-Emilion, on the so-called "middle road", the Château's vineyard covers an area of 8.19 ha on a clay-sand soil.

The vineyard is made up of 18 distinct plots according to the age of the vines, including a parcel of hundred-year-old vines planted with free-standing vines that survived the phylloxera crisis. The Château Clos Saint-Emilion Philippe has a passion for work well done, combining modern methods with respect for tradition to obtain a quality wine. The vineyard is managed using sustainable agriculture with the High Environmental Value label.
