    In a few words ...

Château lafite rothschild 2015the grapes are harvested by hand. Vinification is carried out on a parcel-by-parcel basis in a vat room combining large, traditional oak vats and temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Only vines over 10 years old are used for the grand vin. The proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon varies from 80 to 95% depending on the vintage, Merlot from 5 to 20%, with occasional Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. A merlot vat room with small cement vats (50 to 125hl) was installed in 2010 to further improve parcel-by-parcel processing. Malolactic fermentation continues in vats in a specific vat room extended in 2010 to preserve parcel identification. After blending, the wine is aged for 18 to 20 months in new oak barrels. An important feature of this process is that the barrels are made by the de Rothschild cooperage, ensuring optimal barrel matching. The wine is bottled after fining with fresh egg whites. The fruit of an exceptional terroir, this mythical wine is often considered the quintessential Pauillac and the first of the first. Marked by the Cabernet Sauvignon that gives it its nobility, its aromas are inimitable, its tannic structure subtle and refined. It should generally be kept for around ten years, but can be kept for over fifty years in great vintages.

Le Guide Hachette des Vins Critique professionnel

"The color, as always with this vintage, is impressively deep, inky black with mauve highlights. The nose opens with complex aromas of blueberry, black cherry, blackcurrant, fresh strawberry, green tea and sandalwood. These notes are echoed on the palate, which is full-bodied, silky, even unctuous, with imposing tannins. Behind all this power, juicy, crunchy fruit persists, with a great freshness that accompanies the tasting right through to the masterful, liquorice-peppery finish. A wine of controlled strength, demonstrating with great naturalness the quiet authority of great terroirs".
