In a few words ...

2 km south of nuits saint georges, domaine de l'arlot tells the story of an old Burgundy estate on the côte de nuits. Old archives mention the presence of jean-charles vienot, heir to a long Burgundian lineage, as owner of a house and vineyards in the village of prémeaux at the end of the 18th century. An enterprising man, he had walls built around the estate, creating the Clos de l'Arlot. In 1891, the property was sold to a wine merchant, Jules Belin, who enlarged the estate with the purchase of the Clos des Forêts Saint-Georges and the Clos du Bonnet, forming the Domaine de l'Arlot. Almost a century later, in early 1987, his heirs sold the buildings and vineyards to axa millésimes. Since then, axa millésimes has acquired two vineyards: vosne romanée les suchots 1er cru and romanée saint vivant, grand cru. François vienot, jean-charles' son, had dreamed of a singular park in the depression of an old quarry. Today, century-old trees, light filtered by foliage and stones sculpted by numerous artists at the request of the estate's founder, François Vienot, are all part of the park.
