The winemaker

The vineyards of Tonnerre was once renowned. Unfortunately, the phylloxera crisis has been there in the early twentieth century and decimated almost the entire vineyard. In the 1980s, some farmers replant vines and restore birth in the vineyard. The vineyards of Tonnerre is planted mainly with the best Burgundian varietals: Chardonnay for white wines and Pinot Black for red wines, but also Aligoté. Tonnerrois Winemakers see their efforts rewarded in 2006 with the label Tonnerre Burgundy white wines. The oldest plots of Clement estate vineyard has 25 ans.Philippe cultivates the vine traditionally close to the reasoned struggle to reveal as much as possible terroir.La winemaking is traditional to give birth to fine wines, fresh and fruity with a long finish.
