The winemaker

In the sixteenth century, the wines of Lirac were already very fashionable among the elite. To avoid fraud and theft, the magistrates of the city of Roquemaure -Important port on the Rhone, which were shipped wines of Lirac but also Tavel wines or wines of Chateauneuf-du-marked Pape- drums letters "CDR" (Côtes du Rhône). Thus the term "Cotes du Rhone" is partly rooted in the wines of Lirac! the most southern Rhone appellation, located on the right bank of the Rhône, Lirac is defined as "the sober and discreet believed." However, the name has it all: wine of the three colors (but mainly red), varied terroirs and quality, classic grape varieties of the region (high presence of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvèdre for the red and rosé; for whites include white Grenache, Clairette, Roussanne, the bourboulenc and to a lesser extent Picpoul, Viognier and marssanne). It's also not a coincidence that an increasing number of big names in the region has land in Lirac include Domaine de la Mordorée Alain Jaume or the Château Mont-Redon.
