The winemaker
This family estate of Chassagne-Montrachet, Cote d'Or, created out of the First World War in an old coaching inn, sells its production worldwide. Following Marc Morey, son of Fernand, the founder, is his daughter Marie-Josephe and her husband Bernard Mollard who manage the area. The vineyard covers about 9 hectares, mostly Chardonnay (completed one hectare of Pinot Noir and a few dozen acres of white grape), the vineyards of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne produce several of the best white wines Côte de Beaune. The wine is made in viticulture and soils are plowed in order to respect the environment. The vinification is traditional: after a start of fermentation tank, the wine is placed in oak barrels to finish their fermentation.
