The winemaker

In the eighteenth century, Charlet family owned and wine merchant in Saint-Amour and Julienas, on the border of Burgundy and Beaujolais. The memorandum of association of Jean and Joseph Charlet dated October 20, 1754 demonstrated, as well as various books of the time accounts. The Charlet wines already had excellent customer at that time in the Paris region we find notably the delivery of a cask of wine to Mr Gabriel, First Architect of King Louis XVI who worked at the Palace of Versailles! Today, Jacques Charlet is directed by Barbet family, related to Charlet following several weddings. They are also owners of historic properties located in Saint-Amour and Julienas. That our wines are from our areas, purchases of grapes vinified by us or vintages we select to property, among winemakers that we follow for generations, we ensure that they remain faithful to their origins and they reveal the best of each of their territories. We believe it is essential to respect the environment and advocate a course of reasoned vine and work the soil.
