Champagne Bonnaire

A family-owned winery

Fernand Bouquemont worked from the 1950s with his son-in-law, André Bonnaire. Himself from an old family of Champagne winemakers, he will develop the vineyard of the estate and bring his know-how of the work of the vine.
His son, Jean Louis Bonnaire, is still today the president of the House. He works with his sons Jean Etienne and Jean Emmanuel. The first manages the wine production and the second is responsible for the commercial aspects of the company. The vineyard covers 22 hectares in the Grands Crus of Champagne. The grape variety is essentially made up of Chardonnay.

Committed viticulture methods

Attached to the terroir and the vines, the Bonnaire brothers conduct the estate and the production of champagne with respect to this exceptional environment. The vineyard has received High Environmental Value and Quality Artisan Producer certification.
Bonnaire champagnes are regularly cited among the best values by renowned experts such as Richard Juhlin or Peter Liem, but also in the most prestigious specialized guides such as Gault & Millau or even Bettane & Desseauve.

The Bonnaire champagnes

Tradition is a cuvée made from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, grown on a Grand Cru in Cramant and on a Premier Cru in Bergères les Vertus. It is a harmonious and fresh champagne, perfectly reflecting the style of the Maison Bonnaire. It goes wonderfully with fine charcuterie or a platter of soft cheeses.

Terroirs is a Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs, 100% Chardonnay. It is a mineral and fresh champagne, with a beautiful creamy substance. It is aged in thermo-regulated vats and benefits from aging on the lees for three years. It is perfect as an aperitif or to accompany a seafood platter or sushi.

Brut Nature is also a Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs, 100% Chardonnay. It is a refined and salty champagne, the emblematic cuvée of the Maison Bonnaire. This champagne is not dosed and expresses all the quality of the prestigious terroirs from which it comes. You can serve it with shellfish, but also with hard cheeses such as Comté or Ossau-Iraty.

Variance is a Blanc de Blancs Sous Bois, 100% Chardonnay, both fresh and powerful. This unusual champagne is fruity and slightly woody. After vinification and maturation in small oak barrels, it is aged on lees for a minimum of six years. It will be a perfect match with a pan-fried foie gras or with cheeses of character such as a Maroilles or a Saint-Nectaire.

Champagne Bonnaire Rosé is a blend champagne made with 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. It is a fresh and very fruity wine with gourmet notes. It can be enjoyed with lobster, lobster or shrimp, but it will also go very well with fine charcuterie.
