The winemaker

The Brisson-Lahaye house is located at the crossroads of Champagne vineyards in Tours-sur-Marne, one of the seventeen villages classified Grand Cru Champagne. This former livestock farm has changed its face to progressively up to viticulture thanks to the ambition of a visionary family that has managed to draw a future by tapping into its resources and in its roots. Eliane Brisson, daughter of Pierre and Germaine Brisson, farmers and ranchers in Tours sur Marne, wife in 1981 Joël Lahaye son of winegrowers in the Champagne wine region of Southern Slopes of Epernay. After the birth of their children, Eliane and Joel join Pierre and Germaine within the family farm. At the time they grow grain and raise Charolais cows, however, the family already has a few plots of vines because Germaine is the daughter of winemakers. Therefore, they buy other parcels of vines in the surrounding villages and develop their Champagnes in partnership with Cooperative: The Brisson-Lahaye Champagne was born. In 1994, after the retirement of Pierre and Germaine, Joel and Eliane decided to dedicate themselves solely to viticulture by separating livestock. They then release the Cooperative to become Harvesters-Manipulants. They immediately rearrange the whole house to turn the old premises for breeding and allow all stages of winemaking there. Their daughter, Laura, is associated with the operation in 2004 after obtaining a BTS in viticulture and oenology. Their son William chooses, meanwhile, another career. Since then, the family has been the development of a varied range of Champagne, thanks to the expertise of each and geological diversity of terroirs and varietals.
