The winemaker

A little history


In the early days, Charles Lafitte & cie specialized in cognac. In 1834, François André Goulet, then a wool blanket manufacturer, decided to start making champagne wines. In 1983, Paul-François Vranken launched the Charles Lafitte champagne brand, a success that continues to this day. Since then, the company has been part of the Vranken-monopole champagne group.

The vineyard and its terroir


The Charles Lafitte vineyard is located in the Tour sur Marne region. Grapes from the Aube, Sézannais and Marne valleys are pressed on site. Cellar master Dominique Pichart and his team blend the cuvées, playing with the diversity of vintages, grape varieties and years to create the hallmark of Charles Lafitte champagnes.

The cuvées


Cuvée Charles Lafitte 1834 is available as brut, rosé and blanc de blancs champagne. A 1999 vintage is also available. The Grande Cuvée is available in brut and brut rosé. Charles Lafitte also offers brut-only cuvées: Premier cru, Orgueil de France and Millésime 2010.
