The winemaker

A family story: The history of champagne Gerard Litter has its origins in the early 1950s when Raymond began his winemaker Litter activity and produces own wines in its domain. It lies in a still somewhat departed from Œuilly, a charming village on the left bank of the Marne Valley, about ten kilometers from Epernay. In 1968, his son Gerard, continues the business and moved to the heart of the village where the wines are still developed today. Geoffray, the second son of Gerard, took over the family farm in 2006 to continue the tradition and ensure the quality and consistency of champagnes. The soil, the roots of the wine: Located halfway between Epernay and Dormans and 35 km from Reims, our farm is located in the heart of the Marne Valley, in the village center of Œuilly. Our vineyard covers 5 hectares, exclusively on the terroir Œuilly and has three grape varieties, namely Chardonnay, Black Pinot and Pinot Meunier, the latter being the most common variety of the valley. The average age of the vines is 40 years, which gives our wines an incomparable fruity. Lasting values: We are committed to respect and preserve our environment, our vineyard. That is why a technician will help us develop a "rational control" to diseases of the vine. Observation and reflection always precede the intervention.
