The winemaker

History

Laurence grew up among the vines at the estate; the passion and knowledge of the vines were passed on to her by her parents as well as her grandparents. Her parents Claude and Jacqueline Michez created the Claude Michez Champagne brand in 1973.

After professional viticultural studies, Laurence joined her parents at the estate in 1998. Her husband Cyrille arrived on the farm 4 years later after having followed a training himself.

Driven by the same passion for the vine and wine, the couple manages the 4 hectares of the family farm, elaborates and markets the Champagnes of the property while striving to perpetuate the traditions and the family know-how.

In 2010, Laurence and Cyrille inaugurated their first cuvée vinified and aged in oak barrels and created their own brand of Champagne to distinguish themselves from Claude and Jacqueline's. Champagne La Villesenière was born.

Skill in the service of quality

It is rigorous and meticulous work that best characterizes La Villesenière Champagnes.

Laurence and Cyrille work according to a parcel approach: each parcel is understood, studied, so that all its potential can be translated into the wines. The couple strives to extract the best from the grapes and from each vintage.

Each cuvée is made from a single harvest, a single vintage, for an assured quality.

A particularly careful, precise and adapted manual work is brought to each vine. The vinification and maturation are done in barrels while emphasizing the unique expression of a harvest year.

Champagne La Villesenière obtained the HVE certification in 2016 and is in the midst of conversion to organic farming, which involves preserving biodiversity, reducing the use of phytosanitary products, environmentally friendly practices (water and effluent management).

Champagne La Villesenière proudly displays the independent winemaker logo, a guarantee of quality and authentic, passionate work! From the vine to the glass, the elaboration of the vintages is knowledge of the soil, constant monitoring
