The winemaker

From the XI sec., The wines of the small mountain of Reims were famous. The farm Mount of Hor, located in the same enclosure as the monastery was run by several generations of the Lemaire family since 1885. A few years later, Marc Lemaire and his wife Chantal decided to develop a quality Champagne, "Champagne Mont d'Hor." Their two son, Antoine and Nicolas Lemaire resume the company's reins. A new brand was "Champagne Lemaire Father and Son" ... Nicolas manages the vinification and growing trade internationally. Anthony leads the wine-farming part. knit family, teamwork ... the tradition continues. The vineyard covers 14 hectares, representing a production capacity of about 150,000 bottles a year. There are the three varieties, Pinot Noir (approx. 50%), Pinot Meunier (approx. 25%) and Chardonnay (approx. 25%). The floor of Saint-Thierry is mostly sandy, and also composed of clay and chalk. Freshness and minerality perfectly describe Champagnes of the Lemaire family. The wine site consists of two presses of 4000 kg each and a large cellar for champagne bottles aging. Stay humble, and deliver rich emotional Champagnes to be enjoyed at any time, is the philosophy of the Lemaire family. In addition to the agricultural and wine business, the family decided it 18 years ago, to develop a wine tourism activity by renovating an old barn into a hotel space. Six rooms welcome tourists all year in a serene atmosphere and filled with peace. The combination of all these activities, the Domaine du Mont of Hor a remarkably unique place to relax with effervescence.
