The winemaker
A family estate acquired in 2012, Domaine de Marzilly is located just outside Hermonville, in the Massif de Saint-Thierry, the northernmost region of Champagne. The curves of the vineyard undulate towards the nearby forest. They have taken their craftsmanship to the extreme, even making the barrels in which their parcel-by-parcel cuvées are fermented from the trees in the park. The juices are pressed in an old 4-tonne Coquard press, restored in 2018, and the bottles are riddled by hand on a rack. Born of a dream, this brand-new estate is passionate about memory and tradition.
It has been voted Winemaker of the Year 2020 by Gault et Millau! Well done to him!
