The winemaker

Laurent Delaunay is a passionate oenologist and a recognised specialist in Languedoc wines through the Badet Clément & Cie trading house, which he founded in 1995. He is the fifth generation of a family of Burgundian producers and merchants.

Convinced by the formidable potential of the Languedoc terroirs, it was in 2005 that he bought Maison Abbotts, created in 1996 in Marseillette near Carcassonne by the young and talented Australian oenologist, Nerida Abbott. Seduced by the region and the diversity of its terroirs, driven by great rigour and infinite precision, she has always worked to produce the best wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon appellations.

The quest for perfection, inspiration and rigour is the spirit shared by these two demanding and passionate oenologists. It is to perpetuate this spirit that they recently decided to combine their two names: Abbotts & Delaunay.
