Characteristics of the terroir and vineyard of Château Pech-Latt

Pech Latt is one of the forerunners of organic farming in France. It has been herbicide-free since the 1970s, and in 1991 became one of the first estates in France to obtain organic certification. Situated in a natural cirque surrounded by hills and garrigue, at an altitude of 150 metres, at the foot of the Alaric mountain, Pech Latt enjoys natural protection. The region's exceptional climate is influenced by the Mediterranean, with sunny, windswept soils. The estate is home to a unique biodiversity, characterized by preserved nature, a sheepfold housing 250 sheep, and several species of bats, helping to protect rare species. All this helps biodiversity to flourish.

Highly concentrated on reds (around 95% of production vs. just 5% of whites), the estate offers a wide range of grape varieties. Half of which are Carignan, Grenache noir, Syrah and Mourvèdre are also present.

The wines of the Château Pech-Latt estate

Produced in the Languedoc region, Château Pech-Latt wines are fresh, aromatic and lively reds. You can discover the traditional tastes of the region's wines by opting for Corbières, a high-quality classic. On the other hand, if you'd like to discover more distinctive wines, you'll find La Sauvage, a lively wine with violet highlights, and Chevalier, a spicier, more floral red.
