The winemaker

The grape varieties of the new Don(n)e are very traditional. It is predominantly made up of Carignan Noir, Grenaches Noir, Gris and Blanc and Maccabeu. Almost all the vines were trained by in-place grafting on R110 in the early 1960s. This slotted grafting technique enabled the vines to establish themselves better on the poorly-developed, low-fertility soils. It will be revived in 2017 with the planned grafting of an Olby plot with Carignan, gris and blanc grafts (75 ares).
