The winemaker

Limoux: A UNIQUE TERROIR A gigantic region, a diversity of soils, exceptional weather conditions, grape varieties, the winemaking mastered. All this makes this region a country where Languedoc winemakers say the pride of their history, their traditions and their wines. Between Carcassonne and the foothills of the Pyrenees, a few kilometers from the city of Carcassonne, 41 municipalities define the naming local Limoux. Near the watershed line between Ocean and Mediterranean, climb the vines on the hillside 400 meters. From a climate perspective Limoux is therefore in a Mediterranean and oceanic confluence zone and enjoying a sunny and well distributed rainfall. The vines in thin and shallow soil, limestone and gravel, are always located on the top of the southern slopes at the best exposure. The vineyards surfaces are subject to quotas, the yield per hectare limited to less than 50 hl / ha, is one of the lowest in France effervescent. Picking is exclusively manual for all titles.
