Maison Marcel

5
(1 customer reviews)
Maison Marcel produces wines near Aix en Provence, including a gourmet semi-dry rosé. The recipe was developed by Marcel, founder of the house and grandfather of the current owners. He created this unique blend with notes of peach, lychee and elderflower, out of love. But Maison Marcel is also a white wine blended in the Languedoc region, always with this surprising balance, true signature of the House. Find out more

The winemaker

A producer in Provence

Provence is the leading region for rosé, it is even the leading producer in the world! Its Mediterranean climate, both hot and dry, with a lot of sunshine, is ideal for growing vines. Its cultivation has been practiced here for over 2500 years.

The estate covers three major appellations: Coteaux Varois, Côtes de Provence and Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence. It has well-drained, shallow and rather poor soils, a perfect combination to obtain wines of character with a strong identity.

The iconic Maison Marcel cuvée

It is now Jérôme Paquette who produces the Maison Marcel cuvées and in particular its emblematic semi-dry rosé cuvée with a pale pink color pulling on coral shades.

This generous and vibrant wine is balanced, ideal for an aperitif or to accompany a barbecue. Obtained from a blend of Grenache, Muscat, Syrah, Carignan and Cinsault, it is a fruity, surprising and refreshing wine.

It also comes in a limited edition "amour" vintage 2018 in Vaucluse IGP appellation, perfect for a dinner aperitif. It is made from six grape varieties: Carignan, Grenache, Cinsault, Sauvignon, Muscat de Hambourg and Syrah.

The other Maison Marcel wines

The Maison Marcel Blanc Cuvée

This is a semi-dry white wine made from a blend of Chardonnay, Muscat and Sauvignon. With its notes of vine peaches and light acidity, it is a perfect accompaniment to a seafood platter.

This balanced, gourmet and refreshing wine will also be perfect for a barbecue or as an aperitif.

The Sparkling Cuvee

This cuvée offers a sparkling, refreshing and tart rosé wine. It is made from an unconventional blend of Syrah, Muscat and Aligoté. Mediterranean aromatic inspirations are found in its lychee and peach aromas. The palate is generous.

Black Velvet Cuvée

This red wine with a purple color, with hints of cherry, is made from reasoned cultivation, on clay-limestone soils, the nose is generous with peppery and spicy aromas, but also black fruits. The palate is elegant, slightly mineral, with a powerful body and notes of roasted coffee and milk caramel.
