The winemaker

Château de Souché is located 15 km south-west of Nantes in St Aignan de Grand Lieu, between the Loire and the Lac de Grand Lieu, producing fine Loire wines. Its wines have been renowned since the 15th century. Château de Souché is one of the very few estates in a single block, a 17-hectare vineyard containing 5 different grape varieties: Folle blanche, Melon de Bourgogne, Grolleau gris, Sauvignon, Gamay and Cabernet, giving rise to 10 different cuvées. The vineyards are planted on clay-gravel soils, producing rich, fine wines. The average age of the vineyard is over 40 years, planted by my father Emmanuel Bodet. It naturally generates a limited production of around 30 hl/ha, a guarantee of great wines. Château de Souché adopts a sustainable viticulture approach, combining integrated protection and respect for the environment. Château de Souché wines will seduce you with their delicacy, and will accompany you from aperitif to dessert!
