The winemaker

Indeed, the high walls of 2.50 m Belt 7 hectares of vineyards on the site "LE GRAND RIOU". The term "closed" is greater for wines that of "castle" as supported on a physical reality: the encirclement of the thick stone walls creates a microclimate in the closed rewarding for the vine. The lack of air flow and heat storage in the stone make the earliness of the site and promote the maturation of the grapes. In the background of this park stand out the remains of a 15th century castle burned during the Vendée wars. The against the turret which lies at one end of the session. In 1997, our vineyard began a conversion to ORGANIC FARMING. It is a method of cultivation extremely defined, regulated and controlled. An independent certification body (QUALITY FRANCE) carries out regular checks on the way we work. Many signs (and the news is unfortunately too rich) should make us aware of agronomic errors of the recent past. The organic farming is not a fad, it will slowly become a necessity for the survival of our soil, rivers and public health. Each new vintage is now perceived as a gain to the renewal and freedom.
