Domaine du clos naudin - vouvray - sec 2013le clos naudin is located in vouvray, in the loire valley. The estate was created by armand foreau in 1910, when he began digging the ageing cellar by hand in underground galleries. Today, it is managed by philippe foreau, a third generation winemaker. Clos Naudin extends over a dozen hectares in the north-east of the Vouvray appellation, planted entirely with Chenin Blanc and divided into two main lieux-dits: Les Perruches and Les Ruettes. The vineyard has been certified organic since 2015. The vines, whose average age is around 40 years, are regularly replanted using massal selection. philippe foreau is gradually handing over the reins of the estate to his son vincent. the 2013 dry vouvray is entirely made from chenin blanc. In 2013, a particularly violent episode of severe weather affected the vouvray vineyards, where almost 2/3 of the harvest was destroyed. A drastic sorting of the grapes was necessary to get the best out of them this year. After pneumatic pressing, fermentation begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, and malolactic fermentation is halted to preserve the grape's natural acidity. The ageing period is fairly short, 6 to 8 months without new barrels.cépage : 100% chenin blanc
