Built in the eighteenth century in the footsteps of Roman and Templar occupations Castle Clapière is a great Florentine-inspired country house surrounded by outbuildings formerly devoted to agricultural activities. It was the stronghold of the family of Clapier, before becoming in the late nineteenth century the property of Elizabeth Isabella Gordon Johnstone, Lady after a great Scottish lineage, became Baroness Roissard marrying Eugene Roissard Bellet. In 1892, the castle is visited by Victoria of England in favor of his stay in Hyères remained famous.
