The winemaker

The history of Pontac merges with that of Bordeaux wines. Indeed, it is in 1533 that Jean de Pontac founded the field Haut-Brion for the exploitation of vineyards. He will live 101 years, having crossed the reigns of Louis XII, Francis I, Henry II, Charles IX and Henry III. In 1937, Count Max de Pontac, eager to continue the deep family attachment to the lands of Bordeaux and its wines, bought the Château de Myrat. It operates over a wonderful year of quarantine this cru Sauternes located on the limestone plateau called the "High Barsac" and there is a range of facilities. The Count of Pontac died in April 1988. Both Jacques and Xavier de Pontac brothers decide to take the challenge. Wines of a family, the transmission of passion was evident for children of Jacques de Pontac: for two years, and Elisabeth Slanie impregnate both in the vineyard, the winery and marketing know-how of the two brothers Pontac .
