The winemaker

After the disappearance of Mr. Simon (called Pape), patriarch of the family, the wine heritage nearly fell into disrepair. Thanks to the tenacity of his grandchildren and their spouses transcended by the duty of memory, the union allowed to stop the squandering of a family patrimony hard-built by our ancestors. This fabulous fifteen hectares vineyard and winery is located, mostly at the foot of Bau and Mount Aurélien on slightly gravelly land and drenched in Provençal sunshine. The plots are classified AOC Côtes de Provence and AOC Côtes de Provence Sainte Victoire. Château des Brigands produces 80% of rosé, 10% red wine and 10% white wine. Mechanical tillage is preferred to avoid the use of chemical herbicides. The driving mode we have chosen, and a climate very favorable and ventilated helped limit the treatments, or even to remove them for some parcels. In the near future, we will consider a conversion, whether total possible of vineyards in organic farming.
