The winemaker
Clos Saint Joseph is based in a small mountain village of Villars-sur-Var and belongs to the Côtes de Provence. A 50 km north of Nice, in front of the Var river. It is a beautiful mountainous region - starting point for hiking, cycling and also not too far from the ski areas. It is not an area that we will judge a wine region. Most of the villagers have small private gardens of wine - wine probably poor acid. Only the grandfather Roch Sassi believed in the land and began several decades ago with its own wine production. Roch Sassi put everything in organic production, although it has no certificate. Its wines are fascinating products of this unique alpine region.
