Château d'esclans is located on an exceptional site, on a hillside near the gorges de pennafort, twenty-five kilometers northwest of the ancient Roman city of fréjus on the Mediterranean coast. The earliest traces of the château site date back to Gallic times: its location served as a lookout point for possible intruders who might land in the Gulf of fréjus. The current structure or foundations of the château's cellars (known to be the oldest in the region) are those of the original château, which was ceded by the Count of Provence to Gérard de Villeneuve in 1201. The current château, inspired by the style of Tuscan villas, was built in the mid-19th century. Bought out in 2006 by sacha lichine, the estate is now present all over the world, and it's thanks to him in particular that we owe part of the international success of rosé, whispering angel being the most drunk rosé wine in the world!

Perfect! A strong, fresh, mineral rosé. A perfect accompaniment to the start of a meal, or to a fine raw fish starter. Tasted in August, it's a great rosé for me.
