The winemaker

In the 60s, his son Casimir takes over, investing later in the bottled at the property. In 1993, Didier joined forces with his uncle Casimir to create the Domaine Capdevielle, first starting with the construction of a modern winery and a tasting room and a parking area accessible. Located in the heart of the slopes of Monein and Béarn, facing the Pyrenees, the Domaine Capdevielle now has 25 hectares, including 12 hectares of vines planted on hillsides, with an ideal South / Southeast. The soil, silty clay is rich in pebbles, worn by torrents and Pyrenees glaciers, which allow both to store heat during the day and return at night, but also a good water supply, even on sec, which promotes maturation of the reason. The varieties, Gros-Manseng and Petit Manseng-, individuals in Jurancon adapt perfectly to the cold climate in winter, forcing the vine to drive height to prevent freezing, wet spring, the hot summer and autumn with South wind regularly allowing passerillage (over-ripening of the grapes for large sweet wines). Harvesting is done manually and by successive sorting of early October for dry, in late November to soft.
