The winemaker

Located 4 km north of Flayosc in the Var and 9 km west of Draguignan, the area was developed by Jurgen Spaethe and planted vines since 1974 grape varieties of the Appellation: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Grenache , Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Rolle (Vermentino Bianco) and Semillon. Red is dominant with 80% of production, followed by white (10%) and Rose (10%). The estate is situated at an altitude of almost 500m in the hinterland of the Var, with deep clay-limestone-siliceous, allowing a slow ripening in late season with warm days and cool nights. The vines are treated in mechanical weed control, with natural fertilizers, every two years, resulting in low yields (30 to 40 hl / hectare).
