(7 customer reviews)
Located in Le Puy Sainte Réparade, near Aix-en-Provence, the estate has been devoted to vines for several centuries, with the first vineyard planted on these lands in Roman times. Long known as the "Clos Blanc", it took on its current name in 1966 when the owner at the time had a circular winery built according to the proportions of the golden ratio. The winemaker

A committed organic viticulture

The wine estate was acquired by the Baude family in 2012, and Emmanuelle Baude took over its management. Convinced of the potential of this Provencal land ideally situated between the Sainte-Victoire and Luberon mountains, the former notary became a winemaker and rehabilitated the vineyard. From the outset, she opted for organic farming and applied natural techniques to care for her vines and produce her wine. She obtained Ecocert certification in August 2012, and continues to improve her practices with a view to respecting the soil and terroirs. She has also embarked on a process of replanting the vineyard over several years. She uses both state-of-the-art equipment and traditional methods to enable her wines to express the best of this great terroir.

The vineyard

Situated at an average altitude of 250 meters, the vineyard enjoys a northern exposure. It is planted on a varied landscape of valleys, plains and hillsides. The soils are fertile, with subsoils composed of red rock and clay, topped by clay-limestone mixed with silt and pebbles. The vineyard is planted with typical Provencal grape varieties, mainly Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Vermentino Blanc and Ugni Blanc. It also includes an exceptional parcel of old Syrah vines planted in the late 1940s.

Unique viticultural facilities

The round tower that gives the estate its name is one of a kind, housing the winery and concrete tanks for gravity-fed vinification. The wine is produced using traditional methods, with long, cold fermentations and limited inputs of sulfites.
