The winemaker

The vineyards of Pierrefeu by its exceptional terroir, made envious. His wine is famous and known beyond french borders. The land is varied and roots nourish the plants that take their flavors into the ground. In the plains, the clay and limestone promotes the growth of fennel and wild garlic. The soil is rich and the vines are not suffering from drought through underground water veins. On the hillsides, thyme, rosemary, wild tea, lavender and juniper grows in mainly schist soil. This aromatic earth nourishes the vineyards and give it a unique taste to the wines of Pierrefeu. The planting of the cellar is made of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan and Mourvèdre for the red and rosé. For white we have the rolle of the Ugni Blanc and Clairette. Aware of this heritage, winemakers do their best to preserve the quality of their wine. They wear special care to the vine which is Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan and Mourvèdre for the red and rosé wines and Rolle, Ugni Blanc and Clairette for white wines. The combination of these noble grapes, the exceptional terroir and the expertise of the winemakers of Pierrefeu allows the production of quality wines such as "Cuvée des Coteaux", the "Chateau Beauvais" and "Cuvée Prestige".
