The winemaker
Located in the south of France, between the historic city of Nimes and the Mediterranean Sea, the St. Benezet castle is located in the municipality of Saint-Gilles, at the southern end of the Rhone Valley. Acquired in 1999 by Michel Bosse-Platière and Jean-Pierre Soulairac, professionals in the wine industry, it was then composed of 80 hectares of vines. Over the years, the farm has grown considerably and modernized thanks to major improvements, a restructuring program and the acquisition of new properties in the most qualitative soils of the region. The vineyards of Flint and Fonteuil in the municipality of Gallician, High-Broussan and Aveylans that of Bellegarde and the Château Bellefontaine property of 66 hectares in one piece located Franquevaux, have in turn acquired. Today, all Saint-Benezet Vineyards, directed by Yann Soulairac and Elise Bosse-Platière extend over more than 200 hectares fully grown farming "Terra Vitis". The cave was first been completely redone and a magnification of 600 m2 has been achieved. The development was also significant at the cellar with the extension of the winery and the acquisition of efficient winemaking equipment to ensure the highest quality of our wines. The reception, thermoregulation tanks, 2 new pneumatic presses, a flash-release, a rotating filter and many other improvements have gradually made to create a successful winemaking tool. Alongside an air-conditioned storage building was built for rearing and storage of our wines in bottles. Commercially, sales have also developed and are now some 800,000 bottles a year that are packaged by us before being distributed in a 20aine countries around the monde.Aujourd'hui, the Saint-Benezet Vineyards are considered a major player in the regional viticulture and wines are frequently awarded at the biggest competitions in France and abroad.
