The winemaker

Raoul RAYMOND took over the farm from his father in the 1920s began snatch parcels of cherry trees to plant vines there. His son Emile continued the planting of vines to reach a totally winery in the 1970s to expand the Domain CIGALONS. During the installation of his son Christian in 1978, Emile gave part of the vineyard to create BERTHET-RAYNE Domain. Christian recovered vines in farming on the coast of Barnouine. The Domaine BERTHET-RAYNE creates a range of wines to market bottled in France. Between 1995 and 2000, the field begins to develop export including Europe and the United States. In 2003, his granddaughter Laure joined the field to sustain it. Her husband Martial Capeau arrives at the Domaine in 2005 to look at the beginning of the vineyard and the cellar the following years. In 2009, Laura and Martial acquire a parcel of Châteauneuf-du-Pape on the famous terroir Coudoulet and founded their own Domaine Berthet Capeau to market this Châteauneuf-du-Pape red mark under the ELIXIR OF THE POPES.
