The winemaker

It all began in 1860, with the first investments in the local vineyard by our great-great-grandfather, Emmanuel Boiron. His son, Joseph-Victor, and then his grandson Joseph, followed in his footsteps, creating the "Clos Chantemerle" entity in 1936; one generation followed another, each in turn enlarging the estate, while always keeping in mind the need to respect the terroir and maintain quality. Maurice, Joseph's son, was not to be outdone, and expanded the estate by buying more than ten hectares, then renaming it "BOSQUET DES PAPES" in 1966. The family estate now comprises 27 hectares of Châteauneuf du Pape. Since 1995, I, Nicolas, Maurice's son, have been contributing to the estate with the purchase of 3 hectares of Côtes du Rhône and 4.5 hectares of Châteauneuf du Pape. With my wife Jeanne-Claire, we want to ensure this decisive turning point in viticulture, that of modernity, of the alliance between technical progress and respect for tradition, a tradition that we want to evolve to better adapt to the modern way of consuming wine. Today, it's all about a real need for measured pleasure and a certain thirst, if you will, for knowledge, which after all, goes very well together. Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a grand cru, one of the best in the world; we're proud of it, and we invite you to share our passion and taste for wine with us.
