The winemaker

History of the domain


Christophe Blanc is a passionate 41-year-old winemaker who has been based in Saint-Michel-sur-Rhône since 2009. A civil engineer, he preferred to make a living from his passion. It all started when he met Xavier Novis, a winegrower. So he took his baccalaureate in viticulture and oenology, and created a 90% estate from scratch. Today, he cultivates almost 3 hectares of vines.

The characteristics of the Christophe Blanc estate


The vineyards of this estate are located on a steep terrace on the banks of the Rhône. Its exposure provides a favorable climate for vine plants. Surrounded by slopes and hillsides, the vineyard produces wines of superior quality. The harvest is sold to 30% private and 30% professional customers. The remaining 30% is exported.

The estate's wines


The estate produces the Saint-Joseph appellation (Red and White) as well as the Condrieu appellation, accounting for a third of the white wines produced. Discover the 2015 Hermione vintage and the 2017 Les Vallins. You can also taste the Saint-Joseph Brayonnette. The Blanc de Christophe court is associated with beautiful green reflections stemming from its floral aromas. They are characterized by that fat and powerful side that makes white wines stand out. The Christophe Blanc winery also invites you to discover its red wines. Savor its 2016 vintage Charmille, the 2017 vintage Enfetchores, the 2018 vintage "les Chênes". On the nose, you'll sense fruity aromas, but some reds reveal a taste of licorice and spices.
