The winemaker

It is in fact the culmination of a life plan, carefully constructed, for which we trained in viticulture and oenology in Burgundy and Beaujolais. After the acquisition of a dozen hectares of vineyards we created the entity Field of Berane and built all the buildings necessary for the performance of our business. We are located in the foothills of Mont Ventoux (1909 meters) in Provence (The Giant of Provence) in the Mediterranean slope, 30 minutes from Avignon. The Estate is slightly elevated (330 m) in the heart of a wild and hilly site strewn with truffle oaks, cherry trees, olive trees and of course vineyards. The tranquility here is preserved and appreciated by visitors. Most of our plots already planted vineyards in the French Revolution. Our vineyard zone of AOC Côtes du Ventoux is coplanté Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, traditional grapes of the Rhone Valley. Our vines are 20 to 55 years and benefit from a South - Southeast. The fragmentation of the vineyards in fourteen separate parcels allows a variety of interesting terroirs. Our approach focuses on two core values: - respect for nature and soils, the choice of Salamander that occur on our roads as a symbol of our area is the illustration. This small amphibian particularly sensitive to its habitat only survives in environments free from environmental pollution. - an expression of our terroir, through the production of authentic wines, sincere, away from fads or prey to marketing the homogenizing globalization. For the harvest we realize the "measure" our almost obsessive preoccupation being to harvest ripe grapes with high potential of expression, in the best possible state of health. For wine, we are voluntarily little interventionist during fermentation Whereas the grape must speak "naturally" with more sincerity. Each wine has a character of its own, it is important to preserve the taste typical characteristics from one year to another.
