The winemaker

History


It all began in 1615 when Monsieur Alexandre de Galliffet obtained the estate, which would not be called La Présidente until 1701, in tribute to his wife. Over time, the vineyard took over more and more of the estate's space, even though it remained a polyculture. During the French Revolution, the estate was sold, and was sold again and again until 1839. In that year, three wine merchants took over the estate with its 75 hectares of vines. Together, they developed the business to such an extent that the wines were sold as far afield as Spain, an international market that was rare in the 19th century. In 1968, Max Aubert and his wife Henriette became the new managers of Domaine de la Présidente. They continued to make the vineyard prosper and expand...

A world to conquer


Today, 150 hectares of vines make up the estate and enable our winemakers to produce exceptional wines, which are now sold all over the world (USA, China and Germany for the biggest markets). In France, the popularity of the domaine is growing, with the recognition that the wines produced are unique in their kind. The thousands of bottles that leave the winery contain wines from typical clay-limestone soils, benefiting from a Mediterranean climate. The wines are intense, voluptuous and elegant...
