The winemaker

1768 Date of sandstone sculpted stone at the entrance to the cellar; the vaulted cellars dug into basements reflect the rich history of this family house. Here each generation lived by the work of the earth and through the cultivation of the vine. This vine that was planted in the most stony and more aerated soils, allowed, depending on the time of making wine for family consumption, selling wine dealers or selling grapes to the cooperative. So rich with a true knowledge of the soils of the family business passed from generation to generation, and after oenology studies, it was in 1998 that Luke takes over to create the "Domaine Murinais" old name the place of the cellar. In 1998 the project of the cellar is modern and very respectful of traditions. Thus the winery is equipped to bring the grapes by gravity into the concrete tanks that will make long maceration. Each plot is fermented separately to sublimate independently aromatic and structural range of each earth. Then the wine will benefit from the old underground cellars to perfect tank or half muits. Today Domaine Murinais, led by Luc Tardy and his wife Catherine, has 17 hectares of vines on the Crozes Hermitage. All the vines are worked in order to respect the land and nature. The soils are well plowed, and stubborn begun, hoed, manually. The vine diseases are recognized by prophylactic measures vent clusters by stripping and épillonnage. The harvest is manual sorting with the vine, then to cellar.
