The winemaker

The heavy casement opens up, revealing its long-awaited contents: a cooler, a pump, various wine-related items and, sitting firmly in the middle, an orange caterpillar tractor. With its mechanical insect morphology, cricket eyes and mask, it seems to be looking north down the valley, telling Gilbert: "The tree has been uprooted, it needs replanting". Many years later, as I contemplated this beautiful tree, I realized that there really was a treasure in the crate. Our Dovecote had been born, it had grown against all odds, and the bottle of Cuvée G in front of me was much more than a simple consumer item. I hope to share this emotion and this "something more" with all wine lovers.
