The winemaker

Domaine Pierre André has a land of great diversity: pebbles (quartzite), clay, sand, limestone, and a very favorable climate for vine Mediterranean regional climate with the "famous mistral" that optimizes sunshine while reducing rainfall and mist. Domaine Pierre André essentially has very old vines: some particles have more than 130 years! The average age is 70 years. Its vines mainly based on 80% Grenache for the red, and 40% Clairette and 30% Bourboulenc for whites. vine care has long been a priority on the field: organic farming since 1980.La biodynamic naturally follows in 1992: the vines are treated by spraying of plant extracts and specific preparations. Finally, the field works in harmony with cosmic rhythms. The suite is a logical work with these approaches: harvesting is done by hand, sorted with the greatest rigor, vinification are "traditional" for red (not stemmed grapes and long maceration of 3 to 4 weeks farming vats and oak barrels for 18 to 20 months). The wines are not filtered but only stuck to the egg white fresh organic livestock. White, after a pressing and a slight settling, it is fermented at a temperature 19 to 20 ° C and will simply be glued to the bentonite without filtration. All these elements enable to offer healthy wines, balanced and elegant with very good aging potential.
