The winemaker
The field Stéphane Usseglio (formerly Raymond Usseglio), was created in 1948 by the grandfather of Stephen, Francis arrived from Italy in 1931. Since 1999, Stéphane succeeded his father Raymond at the helm of the family business 24 hectares in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Mourvèdre vines, Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan for red and Clairette, Grenache Blanc, bourboulenc for whites, are aged for half of sixties and the rest of thirty years. The vineyard is certified organic since 2012 and biodynamic since 2015. This area is a classic of the appellation, producing powerful wines, round and fruity. The Côtes du Ventoux is aged in concrete tanks. He agrees particularly with white meats such as pork.
