Domaine roger sabon - le secret des sabon 2009the domaine roger sabon is located in châteauneuf-du-pape, in rhône méridional. The estate was founded in 1952 by roger sabon, and passed down through the generations. The châteauneuf-du-pape vineyard extends over 18 hectares, divided into 14 parcels. The family also owns 12 hectares in lirac, 6 hectares in côtes-du-rhône and 14 hectares in vin de france.le secret des sabon is made from grenache (5% of which comes from very old vines). The grapes are harvested by hand, then sorted and grape-picked. Fermentation and maceration last 1 month, with daily pumping over and occasional punching down. The wine is matured for 18 months in truncated-cone vats.cépage : 100% grenache

The appellation Lirac is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Domaine Roger Sabon and its 2 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
